World famous Beatles artist Shannon will be departing from her home state of New Jersey on August 26, just in time to arrive in Liverpool, England for International Beatle Week - August 26 –September 1. Shannon will be spending a week in ‘The Pool’ celebrating the band that made her famous in Liverpool – The Beatles. All of Shannon’s activities will be a build up to Wednesday, September 2nd when she will ceremoniously hand over the last of the 110 paintings that she contractually agreed to paint for the Hard Days Night Hotel.
“It’s been over a year since I last visited Liverpool and I am excited to see old friends, meet new ones, and check out how The Capitol of Culture is progressing. My plans are simple: Have a brilliant time in a place I like to call my HOME away from HOME!” said Shannon of her trip.
Fans of the Beatles and of Shannon’s artwork will be able to enjoy watching Shannon paint the last painting for the Hard Days Night Hotel. The painting is titled, “The Ballad of John and Yoko” and was inspired by the lyrics in the song by the same name. The Annual International Beatles Convention will be held at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel, Ranelagh Place in Liverpool on Sunday, 30 August 2009, 10am until midnight. In 1997, the title of 'The World’s Greatest Beatles Artist' was bestowed upon Shannon by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool. Shannon has spent the last two years creating 110 paintings for the Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool. Shannon’
