PROFINET Communications Option
To complement the current choices of communications options, Parker Hannifin - SSD Drives Division has released the 8903/PN. This new card gives the AC890 and AC890PX drives the capability to communicate over a PROFINET network. PROFINET is an open Ethernet-based networking solution for factory and process automation. It uses TCP/IP and IT standards, and supports integrated communication from enterprise management to field level. PROFINET integrates safety, protects against unauthorized access, and supports the seamless integration of all fieldbus systems. It is suitable for use on AC890CD common bus drive, AC890SD standalone drive, and the AC890PX series. The option is available factory installed or alone. Using CAT5 or CAT5E cable, it can communicate over a maximum node to node distance of 100 meters. Three status LED’s on the option indicate the operational state and aid in detecting and resolving communications errors. Connection is made via a standard RJ45 Ethernet interface.
