Los Angeles/Flash News… -- To get your kid to the top of the class this fall, throw a little avocado in their lunch box.
According to Tosca Reno, creator of the Eat-Clean Diet, healthy fats like avocados, tuna, and flax seed are directly associated with mental clarity and could help kids make honor roll.
Instead of processed, sugary foods, Reno suggests parents “bury” things like broccoli, kiwis, and oranges in kids’ school lunches.
These foods improve mental performance and circulation, giving kids enough energy and endurance to even be better at sports – and help them get picked first for teams on the playground.
Not only that, Reno says “clean” foods keep kids focused, which means less trips to the principal’s office.
Now that it’s back-to-school time, Reno says it’s crucial to wean kids off the ice cream truck and get their diets back in gear.
She shares “clean,” kid-tested recipes in The Eat-Clean For Family & Kids (Robert Kennedy Publishing).
