Do Dat Entertainment to host dance workshop with Janet Jackson's Choreographer & Artistic Director
Do Dat Entertainment will be hosting a dance workshop with Gil Duldulao (Choreographer & Artistic Director for Janet Jackson) on Friday August 28th 2009 from 9:30-11pm at O.I.P Dance Centre: Home of Do Dat Entertainment located at 190 Richmond St East, Toronto, Ont. Cost of the workshop will be $30 per person.
Gil is in town to choreograph the opening performance for the Top 20 Dancers on Canada's So You Think You Can Dance on CTV. The show will air on Wed August 26th 2009. Duldulao is a world renowned dancer and choreographer who has worked with some of the hottest artists in the industry. He is currently the Creative Director for Janet Jackson and has choreographed for artists such as Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and the legendary Tina Turner.
Duldulao just recently started his own production company with a partner called LIIIV 4 Entertainment. They create and produce TV shows and eventually will get into developing ideas for movies and Broadway.
"I'm really excited to be in Toronto choreographing the opening performance for the show" says Duldulao. "There's a lot of good dancers here in the city. I don't really get the chance to teach while I'm here, so I'm glad that Do Dat was able to give me the opportunity to teach at the studio."
Luther Brown, founder of Do Dat Entertainment (judge and choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance Canada) first worked with Gil & Janet's dancers last year on her Rock With You Tour, her performance on The Ellen DeGeneres show and her performance for the U.S. Troops on NBC It's during this time that Duldulao and Brown first got to know each other and developed a working relationship
"It's good to see that they were able to get Gil to choreograph the opening performance for the show" says Brown.
"He's a great choreographer and everyone should come out to his workshop on Friday. It's not everyday that dancers will get the opportunity to learn from a world renowned choreographer like Gil"
