It's important to maintain backup copies of a website because anything can go wrong. There can sometimes be issues with a website developer or hosting provider and having a backup copy gives peace-of-mind. Web hosting can easily re-located elsewhere and be up and running from the archived copy.
BackupMyWeb.com is run by Chris Hope, an Auckland, New Zealand based website developer who has been providing this service since 2003 to his own customers. Starting from August 2009 he is now offering this service to the wider world.

The weekly and daily plans also include online access to the backup files including a full 7 day point-in-time archive of the website for the daily backup plan. These files can be accessed using an FTP or SFTP application such as Filezilla.
