Aug. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- In an unprecedented move by a major manufacturer of water treatment chemicals, Cannon Water Technology Inc. recently unveiled their “Save-a-Buck” program targeted at the commercial sector. The program offers rebates ranging from $625 up to $1900 or more in some instances for the replacement of cooling tower conductivity controllers or ph conductivity controllers. These rebates are being offered to businesses in the Los Angeles County area in the Metropolitan Water District.

This type of approach to water conservation by a major manufacturer and distributor in the water treatment industry has never been seen in California before. Replacement of a conductivity controller can improve the efficiency of the cooling tower chemical treatment process and enable the cooling system to use less water. Commercial manufacturers will already be saving money by replacing their controllers so the rebate wasn’t necessary. It was put in place by Cannon Water Technology to encourage a more aggressive approach to water conservation.

Cannon Water Technology Inc. is a manufacturer and distributer of water treatment chemicals and boiler chemical treatment equipment. Their chemical product line includes controlling elements for scale, corrosion and microbiological fouling in water cooling and heating systems. Their boiler chemical treatments are all ISO-9001 certified. They also carry a vast selection of pumps, controllers, feeders, mixers, test kits, meters, monitoring systems and remote controls. The most recent addition to their inventory is the Stenner ProFeed System, a pump and feeder control system that can be used for commercial, farm and residential applications that involve the distribution of water or liquids of any kind.

On February 27, 2009 Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in California over the worsening drought conditions. "This drought is having a devastating impact on our people, our communities, our economy and our environment - making today's action absolutely necessary," Governor Schwarzenegger said. "This is a crisis, just as severe as an earthquake or raging wildfire, and we must treat it with the same urgency by upgrading California's water infrastructure to ensure a clean and reliable water supply for our growing state."

The Save-a-Buck program by Cannon Water Technology is a commendable effort and will hopefully be followed up by similar programs form other commercial leaders in not only Los Angeles but throughout the rest of the State of California. Cannon is encouraging any business with a cooling tower chemical treatment system that is five years old or older to look into replacing their conductivity controllers or ph conductivity controllers. The change will make your cooling system run more efficiently and help the State of California combat its ongoing drought problem.
