Venable has been working with computers since his childhood and by high school had made several games, a database system for a library, and music software. Attending college at Seattle Pacific University and then Carnegie Mellon, Peter began to combine his interests in language and computers, earning a PhD while devising software to parse various languages and translate them to English automatically.
