Sole Survivor, previously located in St. Louis for over twenty years and more recently of Belleville announces the expansion of our Belleville store. Located at 125 East Main Street since early 2004, the business is expanding to include the space next door at 123 East Main St. The new shop will open on November 7, 2009 and will be devoted to men's leather goods including European shoes, Frye boots, handmade leather footwear, belts, and accessories. Cowhide rugs and various unique skins will be available for purchase as well. The 1200 square foot shop will also offer for sale leather and leather working supplies. Sole Survivor future plans include leather working classes for adults.
The shop located at 125 East Main Street will continue to operate. Items for sale will be expanded to include women's footwear from Israel, Spain, Italy, and Brazil. Unique, high quality accessories will also be offered. Shoppers can browse an assortment of umbrellas, socks, rain boots, gloves, and our own handmade leather goods.
Sole Survivor was well known for their shop in the Central West End and later in the space next to the Pageant. Owner Steve Rye is head leather worker and designer making unique handbags, belts, sandals, moccasins, and more since the late 60's. Today the successful business has eight employees and operates several very active websites including http://www.leatherbelts.com, and http://www.leathersandals.com. Sole Survivor leather goods ship out from our Belleville store every day not only to customers in the US but around the world. Steve's designs are extremely well received in Japan and can be found in many boutiques in Japan under the brand name SOLESU made in the USA.
