Award-winning “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” Seminar to Lure Ladies to Islamorada November 13-15

Women’s-only getaway includes fishing, rigging, conservation and more!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Aug 24, 2009 – The award winning "Ladies, Let's Go Fishing!®" seminar will be held at Holiday Isle Resort & Marina in Islamorada, FL, November 13-15. Held in conjunction with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and presented by Mercury Outboards, the program offers a full weekend of educational fishing activities for women to acquire or fine-tune their fishing skills, learn about habitat conservation and network with other female anglers. The seminar also provides an opportunity for the ladies to use their newly-acquired techniques to fish from a group boat, or go inshore or sportfishing with expert local guides.

The seminar will kick off on Friday, November 13, with a Meet and Greet networking social from 6:00-8:00 pm with cash bar, raffle and silent auction for registrants and their guests. Saturday's events begin at 8:00 am with classroom presentations on offshore, bottom, inshore and fly fishing, followed by lunch and hands-on fishing skills until 4:30 pm. Named speakers are Sandy Moret, Captain Lee Lavery, Captain Skip Bradeen and more. Skills such as releasing, knot tying, bait rigging, spin and net casting, gaffing grapefruits, trailer backing, boat handling, stand-up fish fighting techniques and more will be taught. Events conclude with a silent auction and reception at Keys to Life Studio of Art. Sunday, November 15, features the Fishing Adventure (optional and additional) followed by a fish fillet demonstration. Women can opt to sign up a male guest on boats that take only two (inshore/flats) and group boat (party boat) trips only.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will help educate seminar participants on the importance of marine conservation by showing the habits that can be developed so each person can make a difference, no matter where they fish. Women will learn safe hook removal, release techniques and more.

Year after year, participants praise the program and come back to learn more. Tonie Farace of Fort Lauderdale, FL, commented, "I came to learn to tie knots, learn fish habits and be self-sufficient so I don't have to depend on anyone else to 'take' me fishing." Leslie Knudsen of Boca Raton, FL, said, "I was surprised to find out how much I learned in just a few hours with your seminar and its expert instructors."

Betty Bauman, founder of the series and recently named one of the Top Women in American Boating by BoatU.S. Magazine, commented, "Our Islamorada seminar provides women with a unique experiential vacation getaway where they can learn, network and enjoy the fabulous Florida Keys and all of its remarkable fishing."

Featured on national network television and more, the series is held in conjunction with the FWC through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, with major partners such as Mercury Outboards, Ranger, BoatU.S. ANGLER Insurance, Gulfstream Int'l Airlines, Shimano, Minn Kota, Humminbird and Magic Tilt Trailers. Other partners are on the website.

Early registration is just $115 when made by October 13th. Regular registration is $130 up to a week before the event and $145 the week of the event and for walk-ins. Registration includes instruction, use of equipment, hands on training, networking reception and silent auction, meals, goody bags and more. The Sunday Fishing Adventure with tackle and bait is additional. Contact: phone: (954) 475-9068; info@ladiesletsgofishing.com; www.ladiesletsgofishing.com.
