HOME Nightclub, at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa, in it’s trend to continue party-themed adventures, designed a widely successful beauty event that battles top salons in the Midwest area. The venue is set up in a “beauty bar”-like manner with select salons arranging their goods on display including: flat irons, suitcases filled with make-up and heated blow dryers. As the beats get faster and the music louder, the audience awaits the introduction to: Beauty Battle II.
Beauty Battle is a beauty conception with a deliberate plan to target first-class salons, stylists, models, designers, makeup artists and the most fashion savvy seducers and tastemakers around. Each battle consists of six salons that compete in front of a live audience to hot music from DJ Deception and Emcee Arty J. This second battle brings back our reigning champ: St. Louis Academy - Paul Mitchell Partner School who was offered a spot to once again be center stage and to compete to hold their title amongst the five other salons. Most everything in the battle must be kept above the belt and focused on the face and hair; however, we still expect a fair amount of cattiness and “tease”-ing which will make for a great atmosphere.
This year’s additional contestants will be: Salon De Christé, Lemon Spalon St. Louis, Abigail’s on De Mun, American Image Salon & Spa and Salon Visions. Each salon will be featured on one of the high-level performance boxes or a built in center stage. The salon stylist winner will once again receive a cash prize and bragging rights.
The battle starts off with a day look that challenges the stylists and makeup artists to quickly transform into night and then an edgier avant guard or glamourama look. The audience is truly the determination of the winner by their participation in clapping, yelling, screaming, stomping and anything else they can do to capture the win for their choice of the winning salon.
“The event is designed to allow those in the beauty industry to explore their talents and maybe showcase looks that they might not get to do in their typical or more conservative day-to-day experiences. The battle showcases to a large crowd hot off the runway looks, without A-list prices and all within an entertainment and bar-like venue,” stated Arty J, Emcee and Lead Host for HOME Nightclub.
The last battle brought out over 700 attendees who were clients of the salons or stylists, not to mention other salons who are hoping to be selected or participate in another upcoming battle.
People who come out may be looking for fun or even exploring their beauty options and can’t wait to see something live and different.
The Beauty Battle II will take place at HOME Nightclub in The Ameristar Casino Resort Spa on August 28th, 2009 and will begin at 10PM. The winner will be announced right after the last battle. Audience participation is the majority factor for the final winner; if you notice one of your salons it may be worth it to come support them.
