Bihar is now considered as one of the most favourable states for investment. For the first time in 20 years, businesses are coming back, factories are being set up and people are willing to return back to their state of Bihar. This is trend seen in the last 4 years.
During the 1980’s, investment was down to almost negligible, the centre had turned its back and Bihar was labelled as one of the most backward of all Indian states. The state that was once modelled as one of the most forward and progressive states was on the backburner.
Today, in 4 years of the Nitish Kumar government has turned all that. It is seen as a state where people are hardworking and progressive. The state has seen investment like it never saw before. Roads are being built, factories are built enabling employment. This means people have money to spend and flow of money is not restricted. This is then in turn sensed by businesses and hence they seem eager to spend their investments in the state of Bihar.
The government of Bihar has asked the centre to declare Bihar as a special status due to its decade of neglect and backwardness. This will enable Bihar to be debt free and hence concentrate its resources on development and building infrastructure. However, the present central government likes to play politics with the people of Bihar. The current government is not wiling to provide the special status for Bihar no matter what unless the government of Bihar provides support at the centre.
Nonetheless, Bihar is moving towards a progression and development despite support from the central government of India.
