Andy Harvey, the director of 10 films via the social network www.canandydoit.com has officially announced he and his company are moving forward on the $25M Horror/Thriller "And On The Darkest Night" to be filmed in both Los Angeles and Pennsylvania. Not much has been said about the project and much of the plot is being kept secret until release which is tentatively set for December/Christmas 2010. All that has been released is the current budget, it's genre and that they are in fact "in talks" with actors right now. No word yet on who Andy Harvey Studios has approached or even who's attached.
Andy has said in regard to the script, which he wrote a few years ago that it is "(his) most exciting script to date, the first action, thriller film I've written". He went on to say that the script and film is and will be very much like a comic book, leaving it open for a sequel in the end; he's not ruling that out either.
Mention was found online that the company has been talking to Visual Effects companies and creature effects companies in relation to the project though nothing has been confirmed or denied.
According to Andy, the film is "very intense, very fast. You don't get a chance to catch your breath with this one. It literally jumps right into the movie and is practically all told in real time, from start to finish, it never lets up, never slows down, just constant suspense."

He did admit it is rather gory and not for the squeamish or faint of heart. All he will say about the plot is that "And On The Darkest Night" is a thriller surrounding a father and daughter with some mysterious visitors.
Sources were able to find the original logline, which Andy first used when trying to sell the script to fund another smaller film. "Their family's secret is about to come out...whether you can handle it or not".
No word yet on how far Andy is with his personal challenge over at www.canandydoit.com or the new tv series which his company is developing. More to come on this I am sure and we're looking forward to seeing what this "exciting" new thriller is all about.
"It's definitely for Comic-con fans, I'll tell you that much. I spent a lot of time as a kid reading comic books...this is the first script that's directly inspired by all of those hours spent in my room when I was twelve, thirteen."
