The day has been designed to engage visitors of all ages and will offer something for everyone. Whether you dreamt of having your photo with Marilyn Monroe, fancy yourself as a 'pink lady' or the music and dancing of the era takes you back to days gone by, Sunday is not to be missed.
Anne Martin, General Manager of Brighton Pier commented:
“Brighton Pier has been open for over a hundred years and we felt a retro day would be a great way to remember one of the many eras the Pier has seen. As a heritage and listed attraction and one of the best preserved piers in the country we want to share our history in a fun way, with all our visitors. We hope anyone coming to the pier this Sunday will enter
into the spirit with us and enjoy.”
The day kicks off at 11.00am and there are prizes for the best ‘retro’ outfits.
Entry to the Pier is free.
The August Bank Holiday weekend will see the summer Circus by the Sea theme continued with some special acts on Brighton Pier including stilt musicians and aerial performers. There are also free Circus workshops for kids on Wednesday 19th and 26th August.
