Coral Ridge Hour Launches Three-Week Focus on Health Care Reform August 23

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (August 20, 2009) – The Coral Ridge Hour launches a three-week focus this Sunday on the impact of health care reform on average Americans.

The nationally broadcast TV program examines this Sunday how health care rationing, tax-funded abortions, and even end-of-life “counseling” are all part of the package offered to U.S. taxpayers in current Democratic health care reform proposals.

Family Research Council Senior Vice President Rob Schwarzwalder charges this Sunday on the program that government rationing is coming, if health care restructuring becomes law.

While President Barack Obama claims that health care reform will not “pull the plug on grandma,” as he has put it, Schwarzwalder believes the President’s plan will lead to rationing that hits the elderly hardest. With limited dollars and a growing number of patients, “somebody’s gotta give,” Schwarzwalder told The Coral Ridge Hour. “Sadly, that probably would be the elderly, who would not be able to get the kind of care they currently do.”

Pro-life leader Tewannah Aman has a personal stake in the health care debate. Skilled, rapid, and sophisticated medical intervention saved the life of her 83-year-old father after he suffered a heart attack and battled blood clots in his lungs. She fears that the care that preserved his life might not be available under a government-run system.

“If we had the Obama health care plan there could be a process of rationing … and my father, being 83 years old, might not have gotten the drug, and he would’ve died,” said Aman, a pro-life speaker and abstinence instructor.

The Coral Ridge Hour’s three-week focus on health care is also being offered on a DVD, The Health Care Lie. http://store.coralridge.org/ProductDetails.aspx?pc=115558 In addition, Coral Ridge Hour viewers will have the opportunity this Sunday to sign a petition opposing the Democratic health care reform plan.

“The president wanted this bill passed in August before the summer break, but thankfully there were not enough votes!” states Coral Ridge Hour host Dr. Jerry Newcombe. “Now we have a second chance to stop this legislation in its tracks. The debate is not over.”
