PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 20, 2009 -
In August 1969, thousands thronged to a muddy farm field in New York for peace, 'free love' and music--and the Woodstock Music and Art Fair became the iconic event to define a carefree lifestyle and generation of Americans.

In August, 2009, thousands will leave dry fields in California to protest the state's landmark 'cap n' trade' law--and the March on Sacramento could become the iconic event to define the crushing impact of eco-driven laws on ending generations of family farms and businesses.

On Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 from noon to 5 p.m., thousands of farmers, loggers, truckers and their families will meet at the Capitol Building in Sacramento, 1303 10th St., Sacramento, CA to protest California's landmark global-warming law (AB 32). For information, go to the event web site www.Sac828.org.

"Industries from mining to construction, transportation to ranching, and farming to concrete, are suffering under impossible burdens placed by unaccountable bureaucrats and arrogant politicans intent on the complete destruction of California's once world-class economy," says Mark Meckler, Sacramento coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots (TPP), which is organizing the coaltion. "In true Tea Party Patriots tradition, we will bring together people and groups who have never come together before."

The Associated California Loggers (ACL) is the latest group to join the grassroots coalition that includes, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA), the California Chronicle, Water for All, the Coalition for a Sustainable Delta and Cowsandcrops.com.

Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-04),  blogger Andrew Breitbart  and the hosts of talkradio's "Armstrong & Getty" are the latest presenters to join the March on Sacramento , which is poised to be the largest grassroots rally at the state Capitol Building in California's history.

Eric Hogue, host of KTKZ-1380 AM's The Capitol Hour, will broadcast live from the event and is master of ceremonties. He will introduce Rep. McClintock as the first and keynote speaker.

Rep. McClintock, who in July was named the ranking Republican on the Water and Power sub-committee of the House Natural Resources Committee, is a strong proponent of prudent fiscal and conservation measures.

"There is now a great debate in Congress," McClintock told the committee, "over whether government will merely ration shortages that it has created or whether it will return to its traditional goal of promoting abundance through the development of our nation's vast water and hydroelectric resources.

"This debate is of critical importance to the quality of life and prosperity of our nation," he added, "and I am looking foward to taking an active role in it."

Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty were named jointly to Sacramento Magazine's 100 Most Powerful and Influential list in 2008. They bring their mix of political commentary, observations on local and national news and humorous reflections on social issues.

Convoys of trucks, buses and farm machinery are expected to bring hundreds of participants to Sacramento from Thursday evening through Friday. Local police and California Highway Patrol officers are asking the coalition to provide more than 400 volunteers to monitor crowd control and parking areas.
