Aug. 20, 2009 - PRLog -- The Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea continues its programme of Saturday Lunchtime Theatre performances with productions of One State of Happiness: Dylan Thomas and Laugharne on Saturday, 22 August at 1pm and Dylan Thomas in America on Saturday, 29 August at 1pm.

2009 marks the sixtieth anniversary of Dylan Thomas`s move to the Boathouse at Laugharne. One State Of Happiness, presented by Fluellen Theatre Company, is a journey through the last years of his life at Laugharne in the words of Dylan, his friends and his family.

Its title is taken from a letter Dylan wrote to his benefactress and owner of the Boathouse, Margaret Taylor, in which he describes Laugharne as "the pubbed and churched, shopped, gulled, and estuaried one state of happiness".

After more than 100 performances, Peter Read returns with Dylan Thomas in America, his extraordinary, hilarious and moving portrayal of Dylan’s slow demise through a series of trips to the USA.

Adapted by Gwynne Edwards from Dylan’s own wonderful words, this show has received 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival, and played in London and New York.

Tickets are Full Price £5 Concessions £4 and are available from the Dylan Thomas Centre on 01792 463980.

Meanwhile, the Dylan Thomas Centre’s experienced literature and curatorial team can offer a variety of talks and lectures to suit all requirements.

They can discuss aspects of Dylan’s life and works, contemporary literature, writing poetry, cultural tourism and much more. Where relevant an unique DVD presentation will form part of the package. All talks end with a question and answer session.

A Dylan Thomas expert could also be on hand to answer questions about the permanent ‘Dylan Thomas: Man and Myth’ exhibition.

In recent months, the team have delivered talks to a wide range of groups, from literary socities to the University of the Third Age; from Cruise ship passengers to local schoolchildren.
