Considered an international authority on education and the originator of Expeditionary Learning, Dr. Grauer received his Bachelor Degree from Syracuse University, his Masters Degree from Long Island University and his Doctoral Degree from the University of San Diego in Leadership Studies. He is the Founder, Head of The Grauer School, President of The Grauer Foundation for Education, and is Chair of the school’s Humanities Department.
Prior to founding The Grauer School, Dr. Grauer taught and administered at six other schools, large and small, public and private. He served as Principal of the International School of Basel, Switzerland and Graduate Professor of Teacher Education at USIU and UCSD, specializing in international education and teacher development. Dr. Grauer is a regular Chairman of School Evaluation Committees for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has been an active member of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
