Lake Norman, NC – Dressler’s Restaurant, and owners Jon and Kim Dressler, are featured in a newly published book, Me, Myself & Inc. – A Synergized World, An Energized Business, Living Your Ultimate Life, which recently debuted in Dallas, TX. According to author Sherré DeMao, the Dressler’s were chosen to be featured because Jon Dressler’s approach to both his business and his life was an excellent success story to share in the book. “Statistics show that the restaurant business has the highest probability of failure compared to any other business,” stated DeMao, “and not only has Jon succeeded with Dressler’s and other restaurants in the area, he has done so while enjoying both life and his work. In this economy, this is especially impressive with so many businesses feeling pressure.”
DeMao, who is also a longtime patron of Dressler’s, was inspired to write the book, Me, Myself & Inc. when she adopted a new approach to working with entrepreneurs about 15 years ago and began to see a common theme among those who were successful in business while also loving their lives. The book also features such nationally known entrepreneurs as Sara Blakely of Spanx®, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s, and John and Bert Jacobs of Life is good, Inc. “Dressler’
A book signing with author Sherré DeMao will occur at Dressler’s Restaurant on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. with $3 of each book sold going to benefit Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen. Books will be sold at the signing, since the book is not expected to be available nationally until later in September as a newly released title. The public is invited to attend and help the Dressler’s support the kitchen’s efforts. “We discovered Angels and Sparrows two years ago,” stated Dressler. “We have sponsored two other fundraisers for them and look forward to supporting them again. They provide a valuable service to the community that enables people to have a warm meal they may otherwise not have.”
Dressler’s Restaurant, established in 2003, is located in Birkdale Village at 8630-1A Lindholm Drive in Huntersville. The restaurant offers an upscale dining experience catering to both business and social gatherings and patrons. A second Dressler’s location is expected to open near uptown Charlotte in first quarter of 2010. Dressler’s has also become known for its wine dinners which occur throughout the year.
Angels & Sparrows Soup Kitchen, Inc. was established in July 2007 as a not-for-profit corporation for the purpose of providing food, nourishment, and a sense of community for those persons affected by hunger in Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson and surrounding North Mecklenburg areas. Sandy Tilley, with strong support from her husband, Ted, founded the organization out of a personal mission to help those in need. In October, 2008, Angels and Sparrows opened its doors to serve the needy with its soup kitchen located at 514 N. Old Statesville Road in Huntersville.
