Aug. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- Are you looking for charity work with a difference? vinspired makes it easy for you to find Volunteer Opportunities near you. What you do, where you do it and how much time you give is totally up to you. Even if you've only got an hour or two to spare, your help could make a big difference.

vinspired is a growing community of 16-25s who do favours for strangers (and people they know). At vinspired.com we help people who want to do something good - for nothing. It's called a favour. If everyone started doing a few more favours, life would be better for all of us. They're easy to do, they don't have to take much time, and they make you feel better afterwards. There are literally thousands of projects to get involved with.

vinspired not only gives you the opportunity to do something good for your community but you also get recognition for your Charity Work . At v we’re committed to giving young volunteers the recognition they deserve, that’s why we’ve launched the vinspired awards, our new award & recognition scheme, to truly acknowledge the time and effort young people spend volunteering; and the great news is that it’s all online.

If you’re new to volunteering, vfifty is a great place to start! It’s a really flexible award, which allows you to volunteer in a range of different projects, whilst working towards your first 50 hour volunteering goal.

Fifty hours might sound like a lot of time – but if you’re doing something that you’re passionate about, as well as building your skills and making a difference, it can go pretty fast!

vfifty is also really flexible and fits around your lifestyle – you can volunteer for 1 or 2 hours a week, or you can focus all your volunteering activities over 3 or 4 weekends - whatever suits you.

The main thing is that you complete your 50 hours within 12 months. So, if you start in April 2009, you’ll need to be finished by March 2010. If you start in June 2009, you’ll need to be finished by May 2010 and so on …

The great thing about vfifty is that as well as counting hours, you can also start thinking about the skills you’ve developed through your job volunteering, and the positive changes you’re making in your community.

vfifty can help you:

•   enhance your CV
•   prepare for college or job interviews
•   shine a spotlight on your skills and talents
•   show off to your friends

Once you’ve completed your vfifty, you can move onto the vimpact award. vimpact is your chance to take your volunteering to the next level. It’s a chance to commit 100% to a project or a cause that you feel passionately about.

It’s about thinking through the kind of difference you want to make, and also the skills you want to learn along the way. And it’s about making a 100 hour commitment.

The award is broken down into four main sections:
•   Plan it – a chance to think about the difference you want to make, and new skills you want to learn through your charity work
•   Do it – completing 100 hours of volunteering
•   Review it – a chance to get feedback from others about what you’ve achieved and the skills you’ve gained
•   Tell others – your chance to promote your achievements and share your story

vimpact can help you:
•   develop a range of skills including leadership, teamwork, planning and problem-solving
•   prepare you for college or job interviews
•   enhance your CV and impress potential employers
•   give you valuable experiences which will help you in the future
•   make a positive impact on an issue or cause that matters to you

It’s all about making an impact. Making a difference. Changing the world. And changing yourself for the better.
