FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 19, 2009 -
There are many iconic characters from kids’ television programmes of the Seventies and Eighties that have become an important cultural reference to anyone of a certain generation.  Tony Hart’s small plasticine companion, Morph, is one such character and The Monster Factory, award-winning provider of  distinctive gifts and birthday cards and have a range of greetings cards featuring the loveable TV sidekick.

Morph first appeared alongside the famous television artist Tony Hart in 1977 and appeared for many years alongside Hart on his programmes including Take Hart and Hartbeat.  Morph was produced for the BBC by Aardman Animations who would later become famous for the Creature Comforts animations and the creation of two of the most well-known figures in recent British culture – Wallace and Gromit.

The Monster Factory’s beautiful Morph cards feature the brown plasticine character in his familiar desktop location alongside many of his friends.

Martin Grix, Managing Director at The Monster Factory, which supplies a wide range of character cards and handmade cards, said, “During the Seventies and Eighties, Morph became one of the most recognisable characters on children’s television in the UK.  His ability to change shape and his tiny, incomprehensible language endeared him to adults and children alike.  Our Morph cards all feature the loveable, wide-eyed character in his normal environment and are the perfect choice for anyone who was a fan of kids TV in the 1980s.”

The cards feature Morph alongside paintpots, stationery and the famous wooden pencil box in which he lived.  Friends including the ill-behaved Chas, his canine companion “Nailbrush”, Grandmorph and Folly also appear alongside Morph on these fun cards.

Mr Grix added, “Even though we sadly lost Tony Hart earlier this year, his kind and friendly companion lives on.  Anyone who saw the little character being used in the recent BBC “Ashes to Ashes” series will have instantly recognised the plasticine creation and felt a pang of nostalgia for his weekly escapades.”

The range of Morph cards are available at The Monster Factory, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of birthday cards and Christmas cards and can be ordered through the website at http://www.themonsterfactory.com.
