Gopak folding tables have been met with celebrity endorsement from both the BBC and Endemol, producers of the hit Channel 4 reality TV show ‘Big Brother’. It transpires that the BBC is making good use of Gopak’s economy tables for its outside broadcasts, giving the tables cameo appearances at a range of locations across the UK.
Already popular with campers and British schools, the table’s use by the BBC just goes to show how useful, reliable, flexible and adaptable these chairs are. Gopak have received numerous orders from the British Broadcasting Company, consisting of Gopak’s high quality Economy folding tables. Backstage staff are enjoying the benefits of these lightweight, foldable tables.
Rigging is the main activity of BBC crews, and these tables help to make sense of the mass of knotted wires which need to be set up for an outside broadcast. The cables run out from the outside broadcast vehicle and along the tables where they are marked with tape.
Gopak’s folding tables were also used throughout Channel 4’s Big Brother 9, with eight Contour tables being used for a variety of tasks on a weekly basis. The tables were safe from eviction thanks to their lightweight, foldable credentials.
The tables post no problem to the production team in terms of moving them in and out of the house, with easily folding legs and a feather-lite 7-11kg weight.
Manufactured from aluminium with wipe-clean laminated surface, Gopak’s tables are highly durable. With a choice of coloured table tops, aluminium edges and polypropylene corners the Contour folding tables look good for the camera.
“Gopak’s products are of a high standard” said Tom Mills at production company Endemol. “They were easy to collapse and move in and out of the house. They were excellent and will be used again for the upcoming celebrity series in January.”
Available in a range of sizes from 915mm-1830mm in length and from 508mm-760mm high, and a host of different finishes, Gopak’s Contour folding tables can be dressed to impress and suit any occasion.
