Follow on Google News | The Guru Nanak was Muslim?e-book story of The Guru of Sikhism by Rassool Auckbaraullee is very brave, hard to believe but yet very intersting.
By: Christia Claire I must say the price is very modest. The writing was a little around the place in his writing style but at the same time very intriguing. There are many references of the Guru Nanak having Muslim friends while growing up in present Pakistan. The most important being fact was, pilgrimage to Hajj and the travel of 20+ years around mainly the Middle East and Asia. The author does bring a lot of resources and info about the possibility of the Guru being a Muslim. Another great point was the Guru died in a Muslim land and is still buried there in Iraq. The Guru wrote hymns and poetry for his people but never claimed a religion called Sikhism. This came later on with later Gurus, who created the faith, but later credited Guru Nanak as the founder as Rassool alleges. The Guru Nanak is more of a philosopher like the Buddha but is against the worship of Idols. He is a monotheist who is in search of wisdom and faith, and he does this by travelling in Muslim lands and learning by Muslim scholars in Baghdad. A special note to mention that Rassool speaks on is the special cloak that the Guru wore in his lifetime. The cloak is in a shrine in India, but photos are on the net. The surprise is on the back of the cloak. It reads in Arabic "There is no God but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God". What! thats like having the Buddha preach in Asia about himself but wearing a Cross around his neck. This cloak does really help Rassool's argument and there is no real reason for this oath that is written on the Cloak by the other Gurus or Sikhs. This Message of "There is no God, but Allah" is the backbone of Islam, and for it to be advertising on the back of the Guru’s back is extremely interesting. End
