ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- The results of a recent online survey conducted by Organize With Love indicate that difficult economic times have impacted the professional organizing industry. Despite the challenges of the economy, the survey also found that individuals were more inclined to hire professional organizers to de-clutter and organize their residence, followed by client requests for personal and corporate services.
To make organizing sessions more beneficial in the midst of a recession, Paris Love, a professional organizer and owner of Organize With Love, encourages her clients to sell items such as collectibles, books, clothes and toys that are no longer used, and tend to retain value.
Mobile resident Donna Coleman hired Organize With Love to not only help her mother clear out and organize her closets, but also turned to Love to assist with putting clothes from her mother’s closet on consignment. After several weeks on consignment, Coleman said she earned back close to 75 percent of the value of the clothing.
“Organizing a space, whether it’s a closet, garage or an entire room, often gives my clients a new perspective about a space,” said Love. “A de-cluttered space eliminates stress and lets them appreciate the space in a whole new way. And placing unneeded items on consignment, selling them at a garage sale or on eBay offers a double return: it gives them a creative source of revenue and an organized space that’s more productive, less chaotic.”

o Corporate (i.e., filing systems, technological services) – 23.8 percent
