Thornaby Gets Jewellers In New Town Centre

Aug. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- Ramsdens Financial Ltd is to open an outlet in Thornaby, creating two full time jobs.

The 713 sq ft unit is currently being fitted out in preparation for opening  later this month (August) to give the new Pavilion centre its first jewellers.

For although Ramsdens is one of the UK’s leading pawnbrokers, it also sells new and second hand jewellery as well as offering a wide range of other services – from gold buying to foreign currency exchange and cheque cashing.

With a presence across most of the north of England and Scotland, Ramsdens has been a trusted and reliable source of short-term cash loans since the 1950s and has expanded rapidly over the last five years.

In the past year alone, it has added eight new outlets to its chain (including Thornaby), taking it into Scotland for the first time and giving it a portfolio of 42 outlets altogether.

Ramsdens’ Property Manager Stuart McNaughton-Brown said he was delighted that one of these was to be in Thornaby.

“We are really keen to play a part in the revival of Thornaby town centre. The place has been transformed and the Pavilion centre has attracted some top high street names which will definitely lead to an increase in the number of visitors to Thornaby,” he added.

CEO Peter Kenyon said Ramsdens had something for everyone.

"With people going away on their summer holidays, we are opening just in time for them to get their foreign currency from us or secure a loan against personal property to enable them to go away for a few days.”

Ramsdens, Thornaby will open on Monday, August 17th.
