A native of Turkey, Yesim Dikener enjoys a music career teaching classical music and piano. She is a specialist for professional accompaniment and has participated on numerous concerts in the USA and overseas.
She has served as accompanist for Stulberg String Competition in Michigan, the Istanbul International Music Festival Educational Master Class Series and Ohio Valley Cello Festival. During her tenure at Kalamazoo College she taught piano and was the staff accompanist for the Suzuki Program. She also collaborated with the faculty and students at Western Michigan University. Since 2002, Mrs. Dikener has been the director of the Preparatory Music Program
at Marshall University where she performed at many events on and off campus.
Before moving to the USA, Mrs. Dikener was on the faculty of Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey where she served as staff accompanist, specializing in string instruments repertory. Also a graduate of Hacettepe University, she produced her debut compact disc in 1998.
Yesim now lives in Princeton, New Jersey and is happy to join the Freehold Music Center family as their Yamaha Music School instructor. In order to prepare for her role as instructor at the Yamaha Music School, Yesim completed a rigorous training course at the Yamaha corporate campus in Buena Park, CA. Yesim was required to pass demanding tests in musicianship while completing comprehensive training prior to being certified by the Yamaha Music Education System. She is eager to work with young children and their parents and is committed to providing happy and rewarding first musical experiences.
