The Taste of the World festival is a unique nationwide series of free events that affords attendees the opportunity to travel the world in a single day! “By literally constructing four continents over a 32-acre park in downtown LA, we celebrate the food, wine, music, and dance from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas”, states Ray Jelley, President of AyQueChevere Productions. “Our event enables any guest from any background to see, hear, and taste the beauty and traditions characterized by the world’s differing foods and cultures”. Jelley continues, ”In these hard economic times, many of our restaurant partners are seeing the ill effects of higher food costs and lower daily sales combined with empty dining rooms. For these problems we have the solution.” By providing a 7-inch sample or “taste”, restaurants can showcase their best menu options, ranging on average from $1.00 to $7.00, to thousands of LA’s hungry festival –goers. The idea is simple as the plates act as a business card for the restaurants and caterers, without the heavy expense of marketing and advertising. For attendees, getting a chance to sample multiple cultural cuisines for less than the price of most fast food is an event worth attending!
