Security and Personnel Pvt Ltd has opened a training academy for security personnel and management, across the state of Maharashtra. This is the first academy of its kind in India, where security guards will be trained according to industry verticals.
Says Amar Sukhi, MD,SPS, " Security Guards are an integral part of civil security today. With unpredictable situations, and terror on the rise, the guards are required to gain some basic knowledge on how to react in emergency situations. Additionally, different sectors require guards to behave and react accordingly. SPS Training Academy will create aware, educated and trained security moulded to the sector's needs"
The school aims to create awareness through a variety of courses to meet the growing need of security, starting with the field of Banking services or currency management. These courses are divided into the induction course for the fresher; the basic refresher course for the serving staff, and an advanced course for the supervisory category. The courses will be designed to cater to the participants, keeping their job profiles and responsibility in mind.
SPS has been in the security services for more than three decades. “Each industry vertical has its own unique set of security issues. For instance, security for banking operations will be far different from that of a mall management or the hospitality industry. The academy is to cater to the specific requirements of different industry verticals. I am confident this will prove beneficial to all the stakeholders in the long run,” adds Mr. Sukhi.
The Academy will start by conducting courses on basic security, and will conduct all its classes in the fully equipped SPS Training Academy. The Academy is equipped with the latest teaching aids, models, gymnasium, and has allotted space for outdoor training as well. The faculty of in-house instructors have over 30 years of experience in the Defense sector, Public Sector, Private Sector and Corporate.
Adds Capt. Sujeet Rawal,Executive Director SPS " With the Training Academy in place, and the expertise our instructors in various fields, the security guards will be subject to rigorous practical training to increase awareness of the common aspects of security and safety."
The course will be conducted in two consecutive batches - It will cover banks, offices, hotels, factories, godowns and residential societies. It is to bring about awareness of the possible risk, raise the security consciousness at all levels to anticipate threat, and further teach correct and timely response to prevent damage in any untoward situation.
