Destined to be the hottest color trend for Fall 2009,
“Violet is a color that adapts to all complexions and all hair colors. It's a matter of finding the right dose. Depending on the intensity, violet can cover a range of very strong colors from taupe-like purple to pink and periwinkle. Then it's possible to combine it with another color, like bronze or turquoise, which can be mixed in to give the eyes greater depth and mystery.”

THE FALL LOOK FOR 2009
ULTRAVIOLET INSPIRATIONS
Dany shares her thoughts on the MAKE UP FOR EVER woman for Fall 2009.
What are the "must have" MAKE UP FOR EVER products for recreating this look ?
The "must haves" for this look are first of all the violet and steel gray eyeshadows. There are also the waterproof pencils from the AQUA line in similar shades: Anthracite 21L and Violet 11L.
If the Fall 2009 woman were the heroine of a movie, who would she be?
She’d be Mata Hari, one of my all-time favorite movies. For me Mata Hari embodies the enigmatic woman, many things in one: a dancer, a spy, a traveler with a thousand faces… I decided to create my own version of this heroine as a woman of our times.
What if she were an animal?
She’d be a cat - a Persian. The cat remains an untamed, mysterious animal, like the woman of this look.
What if she were a song?
A baroque opera. I imagine it as an opera performed by a singer with a Gothic style.
What if she were a city?
Paris, because it’s my favorite city, the one that has always inspired me. I am a deeply "urban" artist. The people on the streets are the source of my creativity. Then there is also Rome, a city steeped in history, with such beautiful architecture.
Why this fondness for violet? Is it a shade that goes with all complexions ? Or is it better with blondes, brunettes or redheads?
Violet is a color that adapts to all complexions and all hair colors. It’s a matter of finding the right dose. Depending on the intensity, violet can cover a range of very strong colors from taupe-like purple to pink and periwinkle. Then it’s possible to combine it with another color, like bronze or turquoise, which can be mixed in to give the eyes greater depth and mystery.
