PR Log (Press Release)Aug 16, 2009 – Kerri Moseley-Hobbs will bring together members of the financial aid community, the U.S. Senate and the Congressional House on Monday, October 26, 2009 for the DE-DC-MD Association for Student Financial Aid Administrations' Financial Aid Briefing with Congress in Washington, DC in the Senate building.

Kerri is employed as an Associate Director of Financial Aid at Sojourner-Douglas College (SDC). Previous work experience include serving as Financial Aid Director at Medix School/Towson and the Hebrew University, and as Financial Aid Technical Support at SDC. Hobbs also works as a financial aid consultant where clients past and present include the Hebrew University and Sojourner-Douglas College.

Kerri holds a BA degree in Criminal Justice and is currently finishing the dual master’s degree program at University of Maryland University College for a Master’s in Business, Interdisciplinary and MBA. She is also a certified Microsoft Program Specialist.

The DE-DC-MD Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators' Financial Aid Briefing event is supported by the office of Senator Barbara Mikulski. The event is implemented by members of the Federal Regulations Committee, in association with DE-DC-MD ASFAA, and it will bring together members of the Senate and House to discuss the importance of networking between Congress and members of the financial aid and college communities when composing Bills and implementing Laws.

DE-DC-MD ASFAA's mission is “to bring together leaders in the financing education community together with congressional and legislative staff to open lines of communication, to receive feedback for any questions or concerns on current laws. as well as, any bills or language that is being composed or introduced and to clarify and question what the best concern is for the population it serves, which includes current and prospective college students. The briefing event is not to appeal, lobby or to protest, but rather a place where the great minds of Congress, and the personal experience of the education community can come together and develop a feasible plan for the future of accessing and financing education.”
