The DE-DC-MD Association for Student Financial Aid Administrators' Financial Aid Briefing event is supported by the office of Senator Barbara Mikulski. The event is implemented by members of the Federal Regulations Committee, in association with DE-DC-MD ASFAA, and it will bring together members of the Senate and House to discuss the importance of networking between Congress and members of the financial aid and college communities when composing Bills and implementing Laws.
DE-DC-MD ASFAA's mission is “to bring together leaders in the financing education community together with congressional and legislative staff to open lines of communication, to receive feedback for any questions or concerns on current laws. as well as, any bills or language that is being composed or introduced and to clarify and question what the best concern is for the population it serves, which includes current and prospective college students. The briefing event is not to appeal, lobby or to protest, but rather a place where the great minds of Congress, and the personal experience of the education community can come together and develop a feasible plan for the future of accessing and financing education.”
