Down River Detroit Realtors help Neighborhood Recovery while Serving First-time Home Buyers

Neighborhood recovery programs are critical to address the impact of foreclosures and vacant property on neighborhood home values

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 15, 2009 -
Detroit, MI – Real estate professionals should be assisting home buyers with the programs and grants created by the Stimulus Package known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  Mark Goedert of Goedert Real Estate works with first-time home buyers in South East Michigan to utilize the programs and make the dream of home ownership a reality.

During a recent interview, Goedert said, “Many first-time buyers are not aware of the new programs or they don’t know how to apply for the assistance or qualify for use of the funds available.  Realtors can play an important role in contributing their efforts to support neighborhood recovery and stabilization while working with first-time home buyers.”

The Neighborhood Recovery and Stabilization program was developed to address the plight of neighborhoods suffering the effects of high foreclosures.  As a result of the mortgage melt-down, foreclosed properties, vacant and abandoned homes are clustered in areas making it difficult to market and sell property in some neighborhoods.  “The vacant homes in disrepair cause property values to decline in entire neighborhoods,” said Goedert.

Goedert explained how realtors can help, “In addition to working with first-time home buyers, realtors can help local officials understand the local housing market in their market area; they can monitor property conditions to ensure effectiveness of the new programs; realtors can help target the programs to certain areas that will benefit most from stabilization efforts.”  Visit  http://firsttimehomebuyersdownriver.blogspot.com/ to learn more about the stimulus plan.

As the interview concluded, Mark Goedert said, “Real estate agents and professionals in the industry need to be aware of the new programs and assist their clients with utilizing the funds available so we can achieve Neighborhood Stability and work toward the ultimate goal of economic recovery in the real estate industry.”

Mark Goedert is the founder of Goedert Real Estate providing many valuable resources to South East Michigan realtors and home buyers for over 50 years.  http://www.under100000realestate.com is a one-stop real estate site for all home buying and selling needs in South East Michigan.
