Bhojpuri songs are becoming ever popular than before. One of the reasons is the number of people speaking the Bhojpuri language. It is estimated that there are over 200 millions speakers of the Bhojpuri language. The language is not only spoken in India but also Nepal, Guyana, Suriname, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago and Mauritius. Therefore it makes sense for the Indian film industry to make songs that have Bhojpuri elements in it.
Gone are the days when Bhojpuri speaking people were presented as servants in Hindi moves. Today the Bhojpuri community are one the most elegant of all communities. We have therefore made an attempt to popularise Bhojpuri songs and music. Our aims are to bring to the world the sweet form of the Bhojpuri language.
Today no attempt if any is made to bring to the world the glories of this ancient language. Till now the Indian film industry was not really aware of the greatness of this glorious language. Ever since some popular singers have come from the Bhojpuri speaking parts of India namely, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh; we are seeing an upward trend where Bhojpuri songs are being played in Hindi movies. This in turn appeals to many especially in Bihar, Nepal, Uttar Pradesh and Mauritius. They come to watch movies with Bhojpuri songs in large numbers and fetch significant return.
Our role as a speaker of Bhojpuri is to popularise the Bhojpuri language to the rest of India and the world. It is almost shameful that Bhojpuri is seen as a language of the villages and hardly any thing is done to bring it to the urban areas.
