Tampa, Florida US- Atlantic recording artist Trey Songz will be visiting the Tampa Bay area to speak to at- risk and aspiring performing arts students from Daniel Academy and Life Force Performing Arts School on August 19, 2009 at 1:30 pm .
The Florida based non-profit organization ConnXions, which was founded by 95.7’s DJ Ekin, is bringing Songz to the Bay area in an effort to continue its mission to “Teach youths the power of relationships.”
DJ Ekin started the organization because of his firm belief in the power of networking; he truly believes the many business relationships he has sustained throughout his life have helped funnel his successful career. “I look at it this way, you can be the best at what you do but if nobody knows then you’re only the best in your world,” says DJ Ekin.
Daniel Academy is a Clearwater based dropout prevention school serving youths between the ages of 14-19. Life Force Performing Arts School is also a Clearwater based school that utilizes the arts to enable self-expression. Trey Songz and DJ Ekin will be speaking to approximately 100 students combined, with students coming from both schools.
During the engagement both DJ Ekin and Trey Songz will speak about their past and the relationships that have helped them achieve the success they have today. The event is being held at the Light Force Culture Arts Academy, an after school child care center in Clearwater, FL.
