Mssi Receives Increased Interest In The Advanced Screening Complex

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 14, 2009 -
As increased interest in the Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal picks up Modular Security System Inc has, in a sense, put the MAC on steroids. After several visits to nuclear energy power plants across the country MSSI has released a 9 container modification called the Advanced Screening Complex (ASC). These ASC MAC modules incorporate standard MAC functionality, including turnstiles, access control, and time keeping capabilities as well as pre-screening technologies like X-rays, puffer explosive detection, walk through metal detectors, and a bullet proof guard office.

As the need for more environmentally friendly energy generation increases, nuclear power plants are beginning to gain a tremendous amount of interest. Along with that spark of interest has come recognition of the need to increase security at existing nuclear facilities.  In the wake of 10 CFR Part 73 issued by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) many of the nuclear facilities in the US have turned to Modular Security Systems Inc. and the MAC as a turn-key solution to come into compliance. For some of these sites, though, the standard MAC Portal has seen remarkable upgrades and additions in both size and technology. Already onsite at nuclear facilities across the US the NRC has blessed MSSI’s Patented MAC portal as means to bring nuclear facilities into compliance with the new regulations.

To include the pre-screening capabilities that some sites require Modular Security Systems Inc. has rolled out the Advanced Screening Complex which can be modified to meet the site specific needs of any major nuclear facility. According to David Slagel, Co-President of MSSI, “The ASC can be modified out of any number of MAC modules to accommodate any and all pre-screening technologies required by a site. We’ve currently developed ASCs out of as little as two MAC modules all the way up to nine MAC modules and we challenge a customer to come up with needs that we can’t meet when it comes to access control and pre-screening. ” “One of the key selling points of the MAC and the Advanced Screening Complex is that it’s a turn-key solution”, notes Steve Shelton. “Once we know the type of access control and pre-screening technologies that a site requires we can integrate all of those needs into one of our standard models or modify the configuration to fit those specifics.”

By coupling standard 8’ x 20’ and 8’ x 40’ MAC modules together MSSI is taking advantage of its patent on the shipping container-turnstile intellectual property to a whole new level. By incorporating access control, time-keeping, and pre-screening technologies into a turnkey product MSSI has proven to be an industry leader in the future of security for industrial construction sites.
