Hunky television presenting adventurer Ben Fogle has been voted the ideal celebrity to help people pack their bags for a long trip or gap year, according to a recent survey by gap year volunteering charity, Lattitude Global Volunteering.
The poll, which asked voters “Who would you let pack your suitcase if you were taking a gap year?” saw adventure-loving Ben just beat fashion guru Gok Wan to the top, with 28% of the votes to 26%.
Voters opted for Ben as their favourite bag packer, putting Gok in second place and survival expert Bear Grylls and television and radio presenter Fearne Cotton tied for third place.
“Packing bags can be a stressful part of going away –most of us struggle to pack for a two week holiday, so imagine packing for a whole year out on a gap year!” Richard McKenzie from Lattitude says.
Ben shot to fame as a Castaway on the BBC television reality series and took a gap year between school and university in Ecuador with Lattitude Global Volunteering.
“At the moment, a lot of young people are stressed, waiting for their results and planning their gap years. The survey was just a bit of fun to lighten the stress of planning, packing and pending results!” Richard adds.
