‘A Night at the Opera’ for Gibraltar’s Ocean Village Festival

On Wednesday 19 August Gibraltar’s warm evening air will be filled with the voice of operatic singing sensation Donna-Marie.  Part of the Ocean Village Festival, ‘A Night at the Opera’ sponsored by SG Hambros will be performed against a glitzy backdrop of luxury yachts moored at anchor in Gibraltar’s premier address – Ocean Village.

Brian Stevendale, Sales & Marketing Director for Ocean Village, comments, “A Night at the Opera is just one event in a packed social calendar running from Wednesday 19th through to the Festival’s culmination and The Big White Night with live music on Saturday 22nd August.  With Childline Gibraltar as our nominated charity, each event will not only appeal to a different audience throughout the Rock and across the border into Spain but also raise money for this vital resource for children.  Former BBC Vocalist of the Year Donna-Marie will be the first operatic soprano to perform at Ocean Village and the atmosphere should be quite something.”

Set for a 9pm start, Donna-Marie’s beautiful tone and vocal versatility will bring serious operatic classics, ballads from chart-topping divas and well-known Gilbert & Sullivan favourites to the audience.  Achieving critical acclaim at every step, Donna-Marie has been invited to guest in over 340 theatre performances to date and been given principal roles in Macbeth, Marriage of Figaro and Rigoletto to name but a few.

Tickets for ‘A Night at the Opera’ are priced at £10 to include a donation to Childline Gibraltar and a free Ocean Village Health Club Guest Pass.  Tickets are available in advance from various outlets where you see the signs, including Pussers Landing, or at the entrance on the night.
