STEVE ORR OFFERS NEW COURSE IN PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
AT HOUSTON BAPTIST UNIVERSITY
Steve Orr, a financial management professional for 23 years, will conduct a comprehensive course on the best ways to achieve financial security at Houston Baptist University. The Personal Financial Management Course will be offered as an HBUforLife continuing education class from 6:30pm – 8:30pm on October 13 – November 5, 2009 at Houston Baptist University.
“The objective is to give practical advice and knowledge about investments, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and to explain the purpose of a written personal financial plan. Current emphasis will be given on strategies to rebuild lives and portfolios that may have been impacted negatively by the recent financial downturn,” Steve Orr explained. The Financial Management Workbook will be given to participants and used as the text for the course. A comprehensive Financial Plan will be provided at the option of the student. Participants also will be offered an opportunity to schedule a private complimentary consultation to discuss personal concerns. “We currently live in one of the richest countries in the world, but no formal education is available to allow individuals to completely discover what is available within the system. This class helps make up for the lack of comprehensive education in this area,” said Orr.
No specific products will be mentioned or sold. The course is purely educational. “I conduct the class as a community service. A more knowledgeable public will understand the need for sound financial strategies,”
