On August 7th, TM Fleet rolled out its new Heavy Equipment and Asset GPS tracking system, the HE 1100 tracking system.  This new GPS tracking system will allow construction companies and heavy equipment rental businesses to track any powered construction vehicle via a web-based interface.  The purpose of this system is to assist law enforcement in the quick recovery of stolen Bobcats®, backhoes, construction lifts, and water pump/generator trailers.  



“Our system will allow your customers to locate their heavy equipment assets online 24/7 with no additional software.  Accessible from any web enabled computer or cell-phone; owners will be able to instantly pull up the exact address of where their construction assets are located.  They now have the ability to quickly direct law enforcement to the exact location of their stolen asset”, says Hector Fernandez, Vice-President of Sales at TM Fleet.



Nationwide, there has been a notable increase in motorsport vehicle theft. TM Fleet hopes this new GPS tracking system will be able to reduce this trend.   This new product line has several key features that make it superior to pre-existing systems.  “We included a supersensitive GPS antenna that for the first time will not require an uninterrupted line-of-sight with GPS satellites.  This gives us the ability to locate a stolen bobcat or excavator inside of a warehouse, building or garage with an average accuracy of 6 ft.  Essentially everywhere a thief can hide a vehicle, our unit will find it.”



Mr Fernandez continues, “Furthermore, our hardware is factory sealed against the elements and all operational environments and will be able to keep up with the harsh environments their equipment operates in, without worrying about their GPS Tracking units becoming damaged from shock, dust vibration, and temperatures.  A lot of thought went into this unit’s design.”



In the event of a theft, a customer can log on to a secure website, find the exact location and call law enforcement or they can call a toll free 24/7 support line and a support specialist can direct law enforcement to expedite the recovery process.  



Another feature that will set this new product line apart is the coverage area.   According to Mr. Fernandez, “If it is in North America, and our unit can pick up a cell tower signal we will locate it.”  The HE 1100 does not wait to become a victim, instead it is constantly on guard to protect its vehicle from theft.  If the vehicle is moved with the engine off, the unit’s inertial sensor will immediately alert its owner by text message and email of such an event.



This unit is priced at approximately half the price of its average competitor with no monthly fees.  “We know it is a tough economy out there. We are helping our distributors by making sure our units are affordable to their customers and making a point that our system not have a monthly fee.”
