As the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali, once said, "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life." Our Destiny boxers are about to accomplish everything at Phady's Test of Courage Olympic style boxing match this Sunday August 16th , 2009.
Boxing champion and local celebrity, Syd Vanderpool, is ready to put his team of Destiny Boxers to the test. They're ready to own the ring this weekend, as they compete in the Test of Courage boxing matches, hosted by Phady's Mauy Thai Kickboxing of Cambridge.
Boxing by Syd Vanderpool has nine Golden Glove champion boxers at Vanderpool's downtown Kitchener training facility. Now is the time to see them in one of the fights of their lives before three of them turn pro this fall.
Turning pro this fall will be Natasha "Nightmare" Spence, Junior "The Show" Dann, and 3 time defending Golden Glove Champion Julius "Caesar" Bunda.
The Test of Courage gives fans the opportunity to experience a live boxing event featuring the future stars of boxing at a fraction of the cost of a pay-per-view event, while supporting our local athletes as they live out their dreams.
Natasha "The Nightmare" Spence, 2009 Golden Gloves Champion and best boxer of the tournament, as well as Junior "The Show" Dan, veteran boxer of 40 amateur fights, will be featured this weekend in what will be one of their last fights as amateurs.
