Former Moody Blues Guitarist/Vocalist and Wings co-founder Denny Laine with the NJ based Classic Rock band The Cryers will be performing on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 9 pm. at Steve's Backstage Pass in Taunton, MA and on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 9 pm. at The Winchester Tavern and Music Hall in Lakewood, OH.
Guitarist, vocalist, and Birmingham, England native Denny Laine began his musical life with his own band, Denny and the Diplomats and later became famous for the classic Moody Blues song "Go Now". In 1971, Denny joined Paul McCartney to found the group known as Wings and would stay with them until 1981. Denny provided lead & rhythm guitars, backing vocals, keyboards, bass, writing and co-writing skills. Denny, Paul and Linda McCartney formed the nucleus of the band. It was with Wings that Denny enjoyed the biggest commercial and critical successes of his career, including co-writing the smash hit "Mull of Kintyre".
One of the premier independent bands in America, The Cryers have performed with some of the legends of rock, such as Lawrence Juber of Wings. Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies, Joey Molland of Badfinger, Ian Mitchell of the Bay City Rollers, The Pete Best Band, Peter and Gordon, and Folk Rock Duo, Chad and Jeremy.

In addition, The Cryers run the acclaimed Monmouth Academy of Musical Art where they are passionate about sharing their love of music with others by teaching music theory and performance. MAMA features more than 25 individual instruction rooms, recital room and group classroom, plus a technologically sophisticated recording and rehearsal studio. Teaching staff are composed of full-time professional musicians, graduates of Julliard, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Berklee College of Music and other prestigious schools of music.
