Exploring Color and Light: Recent Paintings by Peg Bachenheimer and Lolette Guthrie opens the last week of August at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts with a reception from 6-9 pm, August 28th during the Last Friday celebration in Hillsborough. The show pairs two painters whose work captures the light and color in nature.
Peg Bachenheimer's recent paintings are created with acrylic and oil using color and texture to abstract the experience of a place, emotion, or time.
Lolette Guthrie's recent paintings are primarily oil or pastel landscapes which explore the effects of light and atmosphere on place. She has, however, recently moved into pure abstract explorations of light and color.
The show runs from August 24th to September 19th. Hillsborough Gallery of Arts is open Mon.-Sat. 11-6 and Sun. 1-4.
