The Collective Renaissance Guild Wants You to Answer President Barack Obama's Call to Service

Celebrities, artists, politicians, entrepreneurs, students & supporters will convene to promote philanthropy, social entrepreneurship, and artistic innovation
 
Aug. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- On Labor Day Weekend, the Collective Renaissance Guild in partnership with the Woodruff Arts Center and the Andrew Young Foundation will challenge Generation X to answer President Barack Obama’s call to service by presenting the first annual Power Generation Conference 2009; a one-day interactive event featuring the “Speak Out” Marketplace and the Power Forum Awards Ceremony. Power Generation Conference 2009 will take place at the prestigious Woodruff Arts Center, 1280 Peachtree Rd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30309. Doors open at 3 p.m.

“Speak Out” Marketplace:
The “Speak Out” Marketplace will provide opportunities for attendees including music professionals, politicians, entrepreneurs, educators, students & supporters to explore various non-profit organizations for service and social entrepreneurship. Guest who inspire to become goodwill champions will enjoy interactive activities throughout the event including: celebrity appearances, performances, and art exhibits, hear prominent leaders and personalities “Speak Out” about their cause of choice, enjoy sounds and a music download booth sponsored by the World Famous Super Friends DJ Crew, meet and greet with renowned key authors, and view Emmy Award winning films by Ambassador Andrew Young. The “Speak Out” Marketplace will take place at the Memorial Arts Building (Woodruff Arts Center) from 3 p.m. to 7p.m.

Power Forum Awards Ceremony:
The Power Forum Awards Ceremony will conclude the conference by ceremoniously anointing attendees as the ambassadors, aristocrats, and change leaders of the next 30 years. Civil Rights Generation leaders will speak about the vision of change to be achieved by the newly anointed Power Generation (formerly Generation X). The Collective Renaissance Guild will honor Ambassador Andrew Young for civic service and André 3000 Benjamin for artistic innovation. The Power Forum Awards Ceremony will take place at the Atlanta Symphony Hall from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with red carpet arrivals beginning at 6 p.m.

Power Generation Conference 2009 schedule appearances include: Ambassador Andrew Young, André 3000 Benjamin, Ludacris, Atlanta mayoral candidates Kasim Reed and Lisa Borders, Def Jam Vice President Jerry Clark, radio personality Ryan Cameron, hip hop artist Killa Mike, renowned book authors Dr. joy DeGruy and Gil Robertson, Democratic National Committee representative Daniel Halpern, CAU Drum Core and more.
