On Sunday 30th August 2009, London's Southbank Centre will play host to 'DanceMob', a mass synchronised 'Flash Mob' style dance routine, choreographed by Into the Hoods creator Kate Prince.
EVERYONE is invited to perform in this free public event by learning the easy steps at one of Southbank's summer dance workshops, from the online tutorial videos or simply by showing up early on the day.
Kate Prince is Artistic Director of the critically-acclaimed dance company ZooNation and creator of smash-hit hip-hop show Into the Hoods, coming to Southbank Centre this Christmas. "The atmosphere at Southbank Centre is simply awesome. I've wanted ZooNation to perform at Southbank Centre for sometime and I'm delighted to be working with them on both DanceMob and Into The Hoods" says Prince.
Summer Dance Workshops will take place in the Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall in a variety of dance styles:
Hip-Hop – Thursday 23 July
Contemporary – Saturday 8 August
African – Saturday 15 August
Bollywood – Saturday 22 August
Pop Video – Saturday 29 August
Workshop participants will be able to learn DanceMob at the end of each session.
