Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, yet it is the most under-funded, under-recognized and least-studied of the leading cancer killers. Currently, less than 2 percent of the National Cancer Institute’s federal research funding is allocated to pancreatic cancer. This year, an estimated 38,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and over 34,000 will die within a year.
The funds we raise at our walk and silent auction can help change this situation.
Preregistration for our event is available online and the cost is for $25 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. Event-day registration is $35 for adults and $25 for kids. Pancreatic cancer survivors and children 3 and under can attend for free. Register online at www.pancan.org/
In addition to the walk there will be a silent auction, entertainment, educational materials, and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network merchandise for sale. We will also have a wall of honor to remember family members and friends who have died of pancreatic cancer.
