BCP Firm MHA Consulting Hires Patrick Potter as VP of Business Development & Service Delivery

Potter, former Associate Director at Protiviiti and consultant to Fortune 500 companies, joins MHA Consulting at a time the Phoenix-based company is on an ambititous path of growth and expansion.

“We picked Mr. Potter to come on board with us and join the MHA family because of his stellar experience and success in consulting,” said MHA President Michael Herrera. “We know he will contribute to the success of MHA as we embark on an  plan of  strategic growth and expansion over the next few years.

Most recently, Patrick was an Associate Director at Protiviti, a global business risk and internal audit consulting firm.  Patrick’s responsibilities included leading the BCM practice for the Phoenix office, which spans Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.  He also led teams working with client companies in Internal Audit, Sarbanes Oxley / regulatory compliance, IT and other areas of risk consulting.

Prior to Protiviti, Patrick held industry positions for 12 years at American Express and Avnet, including Director of Internal Audit; Director of Information Protection, Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Quality; and Vice President of Technology Reengineering, where he created and led a reengineering team of 70+ members which achieved a cost savings goal of $240 million. Patrick also led the IT Six Sigma program, which saved the company over $15 million in cost reduction and process improvements.  He has also led other key initiatives including strategic planning, Activity Based Costing, employee reward and recognition, and performance benchmarking.

Patrick has developed a broad perspective from working with publicly-traded and private companies spanning such industries as higher education, financial services, manufacturing, high-tech, healthcare, media, and hospitality.  He is recognized as a BCM subject matter expert and is a frequent presenter at such organizations as the Institute of Internal Auditors, Financial Executives Networking Group and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.  He has a Bachelors degree from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
