While you may need to use various organic pesticides when you grow your own organic vegetables you should know that there are many healthy insects in an organic garden that can be useful. These beneficial insects are ones that will work to help with preventing various other harmful insects from getting into your garden.

Worms are popular insects that your garden can use. Worms are useful in that they will work to dig tunnels in your soil. These tunnels will create areas for air that allow for plants to receive water that they need. The excretions that worms can create from consuming soil can be used to help with creating humus that works to help with getting the soil to retain water at a greater rate.

Compost worms can be useful too but they will not work in all types of soils that can be used for organic gardens. These are worms that live in organic matter that can be placed in your garden to help with providing nutrients into your garden bed. Be sure to visit  http://www.mumsgrowyourownorganicvegetables.com

Carabid beetles are also healthy insects in an organic garden to use. These small beetles are ones that devour various pests that can damage your plants. Among the pests that a carabid beetle can feed on include caterpillars and slugs. These beetles are nocturnal insects and will be able to devour these creatures at night.

Rove beetles are healthy insects in an organic garden that you should definitely check out. These are beetles that devour grubs that can damage your plants. They will not attempt to harm your plants. These beetles live underneath mulches that you can plant onto your garden bed.

It is easy for you to get these insects to get into your garden so that it will be protected. Various different bait and tackle stores offer worms for sale. You can even get your kids to help with placing these worms into your garden. After all, they may be interested in these small creatures.

Some garden centers also have beetles that are used for protection available for sale. You can even get your kids to help you out with spreading these beetles when you do get them.
