Many of the talented cast of ‘Love Hurts’, Richard Grant, Carrie-Anne Moss, Johnny Pacar, Jenna Elfman, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim and Rita Rudner, will be joining festival guests at the Movie Experience 10 at Tower Plaza (E. I-15 @Ynez Road & Rancho California Road). This five-day action-packed festival (running September 9-13) showcases the best in film and music from around the world.
Opening night has become as celebrated as the closing finale, with a star-filled red-carpet leading right into a glamorous cocktail pre-screening reception. Filmmakers, like Barra Grant, & Brian Reilly, Temecula city officials, special festival dignitaries and celebrities from the film and music world will lead the way into the opening night film screening and post-screening party to get launch the days of festival activities.
The festival is full of wonderful films this year, as well as musical talent and ‘young talent’ seems to be a reoccurring theme this year. Young star Lucas Grabeel, know best for his role in the ever popular High School Musical films, is a perfect example. He will be in line to screen his short films CHUCKLE BOY and REAL SON, as well as his Music Video’s. In addition, he will be honored at the Closing Awards Ceremonies, with the Pechanga Maverick Star Award, for his extraordinary, diverse talent, body of work and contributions to Film and Music as Young Music Artist, Film Producer, Director and Actor. Lucas will be the youngest recipient of this particular award in the 15 year history of the Festival.
Other Closing Ceremony Award recipients include music composer, John Debney, for Outstanding Career Achievement Award for significant body of work, extraordinary talent and contributions to Film and Music as Film Composer. Disney’s Steve Rushton was announced to receive the Rising Star Award and Daniel and Beverly Stephenson, are slated to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for significant contributions to the promotions of arts and culture in Temecula Valley and specifically for their steadfast support and contributions to the growth and success of the Temecula valley International Film & Music Festival. This year, in a bold move, the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival will also honor another festival, SLAMDANCE Film Festival, with the Distinguished Institution Award for their innovative leadership in the independent film festival community, sharing the spotlight with an institution dedicated to bringing Indies to the forefront.
Other highlights of the festival include the MusicFest in the Vineyards, which takes place September 11th & 12th, featuring emerging, up and coming unsigned performing artists, bands and vocal performers, a weekend of film & music industry workshops and panels featuring the hottest cutting-edge entertainment industry information from Hollywood professionals.
