ATLANTA, GA. - The city of Atlanta, best known for its peach cobbler and Gone With the Wind, is now most recognized for its many celebrities:
Toby’s latest undertaking takes form in the new one-man stage play, “Marl on This & Marl on That…A Dirty Maze In Thirty Daze,” a 10-city tour that launches in New York City, starring Campbell himself. After years as a screenwriter, the prospect of being front and center is a welcome change for Campbell. Although his focus has been on writing scripts and concept treatments for television (currently for NBC and about to go into production for the film), one of his greater gifts has always been the ability to mimic the characters he would see on television as a child. Glenn watched Campbell filming a MTV PSA a few weeks ago and the project was born! “The scope of Glenn Toby’s influence is undeniable, so I was up for signing on to anything he brought to the table,” said Campbell. In addition, Marlon and Glenn will be officially launching A-Match Pictures, A film production company and home of the much anticipated film “Oblivious”
Instrumental in the careers of recording artists Nelly, R. Kelly and Quincy Jones, it is a fair estimation that Toby’s influence is indeed undeniable. Glenn Toby Enterprises is a multi-faceted company that incorporates financial management and services, sports and entertainment management, Glenn’s Grooves Productions, Inc, Infinite Sports Concepts, and a nonprofit project called the Book Bank Foundation, which was developed to be a source of positive support to the youth in urban and rural communities. Toby’s progression into the world of theatre will indisputably be as triumphant as every realm he has explored thus far.
Triumphant in his own right, most recently, Campbell will be featured in a profile interview with “Studio Beyond” in Aug 09 and was listed in the “Who’s Who Black Book” and won Plan B Magazine’s “Strong African American Leader/Most Influential”
