Expanded capacity, technical breadth, and value added services are all part of the growth being experienced by MTI Contract Welding Services.
Following the recent purchase of Transformation Technologies, Inc. (TTI), the integration into MTI’s Washington Street facility will be finalized this month. Three (3) new Friction Stir Welders (FSW’s) were added as well as a Linear Friction Welder (LFW) to the current Contract Welding facility. This expansion has provided more than a 40% increase in capacity, reduced turnaround time and increased the potential for high tech/low cost solutions for its customers. Among its arsenal of equipment is the world’s largest contract rotary friction welder.
By the end of August all the current machinery will be in place and brought on-line. Several other specialized machines are scheduled to join the lineup later this year to provide even more unique capabilities to its customers.
Based on the diverse business strategy, MTI has continued to grow through significant export business and wide customer base. Due to this business strategy, MTI has been able to generate assets to provide significant growth even in today’s lean business environment.
MTI is now one of the few facilities in the world that is capable of providing the complete range of Inertia Friction Welding, Direct Drive Friction Welding, Radial Friction Welding, Stir Friction Welding, Linear Friction Welding, and Resistance Welding machinery.
