(Center Moriches, New York) — On August 5, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck announced it is kicking off its fundraising campaign for its dining hall expansion project. The camp is looking to raise $1 million for the project.
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck staff members and members of its board of directors provided artist’s renderings of what the new dining hall would look like once it is finished. Fundraising for this expansion is crucial since the camp is a non-profit organization and therefore relies solely on donations for the camp to operate and offer programs to special-needs children who attend the camp.
Groundbreaking is slated for 2010, and construction is to be completed in time for the 2011 summer season. The new dining hall would provide more space for the campers. In addition, it would be available to other organizations who wish to rent it out for special events. “With this expansion, we will not only be able to accommodate more children during dinner, but allow other groups to use the dining hall for various fundraising events, which would generate more revenue for the camp,” Jean Gilrane, Director, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck.
