Pirate Maize opens to the public

What is believed to be the largest Maize Maze in the south west opened its gates to the public for the first time on the 1st of August.

Aug. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- The elaborate pirate ship design was the brain child of Alan Jewell of Pennance Mill Farm Chalet & Camping Park near Maenporth beach at Falmouth. Local land surveyors and setting out engineers Kemp were approached by the couple to transfer their sketches onto the 10 acre site. Director Scott Kemp said, “we thought setting out the Eden Project was as flamboyant as it gets but when Alan came to us with his sketches we were delighted to assist with his creation”.  Alan explained, “we run a family camping park on the farm and so we thought it would be a chance for some of our guests, as well as the general public, to loose the kids for a while, literally! I am hoping to have a different design each year so watch this field!” The maze will be open 7 days a week from the 1st of August from 10am until 7pm. There is on site parking and all are welcome for what promises to be an amaizing day out.
